This Photo took a lot of thought to bring together. Choosing a photo for the background and a portrait. However, I wanted a downtown photo that had depth to it so it would look like it made sense. I picked what I thought was the best portrait and then decided on switch photo I would pair it with. Once I tried these it just felt like it made sense, the windows line up almost like it was meant to be. Then the portrait does not over take the photo and same with the photo to the portrait. The Portrait to me, seems like it was painted onto the wall. Once I had them sized right, I adjusted the contrast and brightness to try and bring out the natural colors.

Great stuff, Josh! The straight on shots are excellent for several reasons, not the lease of which is your dog has a very stoic stare; clearly taking her job very seriously. The lighting, color, and depth of field all work great together as well, all the more amplified by the setting. Nice expanded portrait -this was my favorite of your downtown shots, and with the layering it takes on a nice "graffitiesque" quality without being too heavy handed.
ReplyDeleteReally cool! Making your pup’s portrait lighter than the other photo makes it look like an homage to her!
ReplyDeleteAmazing I used my dog as well it creates a story bigger then what you put it out to be as there’s so many options to lead!
ReplyDeleteAt first glance it almost looks as though the dog is painted on the building, which adds an element that is nice and blends well. It looks "in place" if that makes sense.
ReplyDeleteI really like how you layered your photos. The lighting is great in your photo and the shadow of your dog with the downtown look works really well together.
