I was lacking "human" subjects, so Bailey took one for the team for the portraits. We used two different areas to take the pictures. we figured out the area with less lighting appeared as if there was more sunlight in the pictures. Bailey is decently trained, so sitting on a chair was no problem. However, to get her attention for a long period of time: dog beef jerky did the trick. This of course made getting the pictures slightly more difficult. You'll see two pictures that look like the same picture, they actually aren't. They were different settings on the camera and came out very differently when brought up in the file. This assignment really made me fluctuate between camera setting more than normal because of the lighting and positioning. Sense Bailey is mostly black it made going darker more challenging in a sense. After taking a large amount of photos these are the ones I settled on. The first three are my favorite and I think had more direct sunlight.
The Thing Itself This photo was taken July 17th, 2014 by Susan McConnell. It is titled "Catching lions" and was part of lion conversation work when scientist were tagging the lions for tracking and pattern information. This was taken by Aaron Huber on December 29, 202. The photo was taken in Hawaii. This photo presents itself as "the thing itself" because of the lighting and focus on the vehicle. The darkness on the frontend is giving the vehicle the voice of the picture, while the back drop gives it the setting of the picture. This photo did not have a title. However, it stood out as cool to me with the sense of "place" I was looking for. Detail This photo was taken by Mikita Yo. It is the Duomo Milan Cathedral square taken May 3, 2020.
